Congratulations to Team Szkoła Podstawowa Nr 2 w Markach from Poland for winning this week's Global Team of The Week award!
The Szkoła Podstawowa Nr 2 w Markach Water Explorers ( 'Polish Drops' as they've named themselves) find lots of great ways to add their own flavour to the Water Explorer Challenges, quite literally! After comparing the amount of water used in different foods, the Team realised that often less processed, meat-free foods have a smaller water footprint. Empowered by this new knowledge, the Polish Drops decided to show other students in their school that meals with a smaller water footprint can still be delicious! They cooked their own vegeburger for students to try, and explained why fresh tomatoes are better than ketchup, and even provided recipes for students to take home with them!
As well as looking at secret water in food, the team also delivered watery workshops to other classes in their school, and set up a water walkway in the school corridors that really helped to get students to make their own water pledges.
The Team's motto is "Learning by Teaching" and they've certainly been working hard to teach those around them about water use!
Well done Polish Drop Water Explorers - keep on learning!
