The kids at Kings School were challenged to collect as much grey water as they could for National Water month. They decided to turn the challenge into a competition between the grades. The weekly totals were gathered every Wednesday, and the results announced every Thursday during assembly. Over the course of the month the school collected a total of 947Litres. The winning grades (grade 7 and grade 2&3, were tie), won an afternoon free play in the swimming pool for their efforts ! An appropriate prize to celebrate water!
The school as a whole has decided to continue collecting grey water and now every Wednesday the water is being turned off at the mains, for the day, and the grey water collected is being used to flush the toilets. This term each Wednesday the whole have to bring their own 2L of drinking water to school.
