Water Saving Week
Posted on 20 March 2015

Over the next few weeks there are lots of things happening to raise awareness around water.

Water Saving Week runs from March 22nd to the 28th and this lands nicely with World Water Day.

World Water Day is on Sunday the 22nd March and has been around for 22 years. It's a day to celebrate and discuss the issues around water. There is an annual theme for WWD and this years is 'Water and Sustainable Development'. It’s about how water links to all areas we need to consider to create the future we want.

This issue is also the theme of the annual UN World Water Development Report which is launched on World Water Day.

Water Saving Week is an initiative by Waterwise. There will be an exciting range of activities to raise awareness about why we need to save water. You'll find a huge amount of content on their website, including challenges, and tips and ideas to help you save water.

Each day of the week focuses on a specific area of water use, linked to these are water saving ideas and a daily challenge.

There's a Water Saving Week Download Pack which includes the Water Saving Week Logo, the Mr Splosh images, a sample press release, posters to download and infographics to share.

Use #watersavingweek and @waterwise to get involved on social media.
