One of the many informative posters created by the grade 7s.

The Grade 7’s completed an activity researching hidden water in everyday items. The activity began with using computers to calculate their water footprints.  After they had completed that activity they researched how much water was used to manufacture an item.  The children were allowed to choose any item that interested them and the choices ranged from food items such as hamburger patties, to clothing such as jeans, to mechanical items such as cars.  Once the children had completed their research they produced posters showing their findings.  These posters were displayed in the classrooms and fascinated the children for some time.  A very worthwhile investigation into just how much of our most precious natural resource we consume without a second thought!
