Growing our Garden with help from Turkey and our dedicated "Explorers"
Posted by Mjila primary, South Africa on 28 May 2018

Mjila water explorers has their own challenge .Although we had vegetable garden but we are happy because one of the school in Turkey  Balikiovava Secondary School donated some seeds we were very motivated to continue with organic garden .In our garden we use compost that we make from waste material like food left overs , papers, dry grass , kraal manure green grass etc. By compost we also practicing 3Rs  learners learnt to re use , recycle and reduce waste . We also use green tea and earthworm juice. In controlling pesticides we use mix( crushed ) garlic, onions, chillies .we do mulch .By doing this we are saving water and by reducing waste it also save water and protect animals that live in water .Its about 250 people  know about this project because in our school we have 217 learners and they all learnt about organic garden and  other learners  have their own small gardens.Involved people 190 ( learners from grade 1 to 7 ) they collect all the material
