Example of Environmental Excellence: Alien Plants Removal
Posted by Panorama Primary, South Africa on 1 October 2020

Numerous environmental programmes were neglected during lockdown due to restrictions, which meant that countless environmental impacts were bound to happen. Panorama Primary School was infested by alien plants such as bug weeds that occupy more space and uses more water and resources. To remain an Eco-School and being an example of environmental excellence by ensuring that the school remain alien free, alien plants such as bug weeds and lantana were removed in the school. An application of an herbicide called Kaput 100 is used to ensure that the weeds do not grow again which will mean, more weeds in their next season.
