ALİBEYKÖY DAM LAKE

After Kağıthane water treatment plant, by the suggestion of the authorities there, we set our feet to Alibeyköy Dam Lake. The heavy rain couldn't stop us. With our raincoats and boots we got to roat to Alibeyköy Dam Lake, ready for our mission. The life in water varies like the life on ground. At the side of the Dam Lake we were looking the natural life wasn't tainted. In the lake lives fish and the people can catch and consume them. At the lake's closer parts to the settlements, there was pollution. But the parts where the water flows to water purification facility, was clean. Because of the rain this trip became more for explorers.  They had the chance to observe how the rain waters flood the lakes through the hills in the places where rain occurs a lot. The rain waters was flowing like little cascades. This imagery made us remember our flood collage. Because of the heavy rain, getting close to lake could be dangerous. We examined the puddles around the lake. We saw worms hidden under rocks. We got soaky wet, and headed back to our school with the purpose of not to get sick.

This trip was very informative and interesting. While we examine the life in water, we had the chance to observe closely how the dam lakes are filled and the rain can be a real threat. The explorers really liked the natural wonders of the lake, so we decided to come again on a sunny day. When we get back to our school we shared our observations. We shared opinions about the tainters of water.
