Post related to MiniSASS,

Our Y5 Water Explorers took the rest of their class on an adventure with the Tyne River Trust. We were given some salmon eggs to hatch in our classroom and then once they had developed into 'fry' we were able to go to our local stream, the Cor Burn, and release the salmon on the next stage of their incredible journey. We checked the water quality by undertaking a MiniSASS and identified lots of different organisms from caddisflies and stoneflies to shrimp and fish. It really was an amazing experience! Fantasitc work by the Water Explorers, Class 5P and the Tyne River Trust.
