Ecobrick Stairs
Posted by Mjila primary, South Africa on 26 July 2018

Our team collected and made over 300 eco-bricks. Our main aim was to rehabilitate a sloping dangerous bank that was eroding leading down to our classrooms. Already one our teachers broke her ankle falling down the bank. All or our WE team helped collect and make the bricks over these past 3 months. And then we set about building our stairs into the bank. This has made a huge difference. We will use the balance of the bricks for making a herb garden. Our learners have really embraced eco-bricks as they see 'waste' as a resource and they really do understand the problems with plastic pollution. Eco-bricks is helping us to make things useful with discarded plastics that would end up polluting our environment.
