Wise ways with water!

Post related to Pump it up!, Global Water

We have a borehole on our school grounds and it is only this water that is responsible for watering our fields (and some water from the Jojo tanks). The children know that the sprinklers and the swimming pool are fed from the borehole.  This saves approximately 100 000L of water per month

Although we do not require the children to make models of the borehole, we do get our Grade 6’s to build an Archimedes Screw and our Grade 5’s to build an Egyptian shaduf. The tasks of building these items and various activities completed before and after the building, look at the necessity of water and how people around the world access, use and manage water resources.
