On Friday the 16th March the grade two children at Amanzimtoti Primary where fortunate to be visited by Julia Colvin from ACT. Julia presented a lesson on water filtration to the 29 children and discussed the importance of wetlands to them. The Grade 2’s were then put in groups to design their own water filter using a 2L plastic bottle, gravel, cotton wool, charcoal, grass, sand and grey water. A little competition was held to find out which group’s filter was the most effective. They thoroughly enjoy the lesson. Many thanks to Miss Colvin.
