Toilet Twinning
Posted by Beaconhurst School, United Kingdom on 10 March 2017

Beaconhurst Eco committee (the Beaconhurst Water Warriors) were proud to be UK Water explorers of the month in November. We used our prize money to Twin a toilet with a village in need of better sanitation facilities and clean water in the Democratic republic of Congo. You can find the precise location of the toilet at . As well as providing the better sanitation facilities and clean water the Toilet Twinning charity also uses the donation to provide an education to the people on the need for sanitation and how to take appropriate measures. It is a vital combination that works together to help prevent the spread of diseases and keeps children healthier and gives them the chance to go to school and helps the parents who are well enough to grow enough food to feed their family and work their land. It will also make people less likely to have the risk of being bitten by snakes as they go to the toilet in the grass and it makes women and girls less likely a target for sexual assault as they go to the toilet.

We would recommend Toilet twinning to other schools. For more information please visit http://www.toilettwinning.org/
