Calthorpe Park School hold another Water Festival
Posted on 18 April 2017

On the 8th of March, Calthorpe Park School hosted their second Water Explorer Water Festival in two years! The event was organised by a dedicated group of 30 students. For some it was their first Water Festival, while others had enjoyed being involved in organising last year’s Festival so much that they decided to do it all over again.

The day started with the children arriving to school wearing blue, and an assembly to introduce the whole of Year 7 to Water Explorer. The students also heard from someone from Dig Deep – a water charity that they had raised money for. The Year 7s then left the drama studio, and the Water Explorer Team got to work transforming the drama studio ready for their Water Festival.

By the time the Year 7s returned to the drama studio an hour and a half later, the room was full of all sorts of different activities for the guests to try out. All in all this creative bunch of Explorers came up with 10 different watery activities for their guests to try out. From writing water-saving pledges and decorating labels for reusable water bottles, to water-themed obstacle courses and even a fishing game, there was something for everyone!

Ella, 12 said: “Each stall has a different but important message to teach the students about precious water. I wanted to be involved again this year as I enjoyed the event last year and discovered brand new information about water”.

Well done on another waterful water-saving Water Festival Calthorpe Water Explorers. Keep spreading the water saving message!
